New world Brave; Is topsey turvey.

Brave New World Baby's

Real World baby's

A Brave new world........................................ makes me say," Did I really just read what I think I read?" Anyways after reading the the first couple of chapters I went back and paid the Foreward a visit. Many interesting details about the book and the depicted society were brought up in the foreward chapter. One mind boggling truth is the statement," Brave New world is a book about the future, and a book about the future can interest us only if its prophecies look as though they might conceivably come true(Huxlyx)." I was wondering why this book seemed so interesting to me and this line from Huxly piratically told me why. At first the ideas, setting, and way the society works is practical overwhelming and laughable in an unbelievable manner. But when I really ponder and make correlations between this surreal society and ours I see that this surreal society could be quite real. In our modern times we see profit as a good thing. But as society based only on profit and gain just doesn't sound moral. But when I really think about it a lot of things just come strait down to money. People try to morph their lifestyle into one where they have plenty to spend on necessity and a little sum thing something for themselves. The idea of living paycheck to paycheck strikes fear and stress into people. So, I could defiantly see a society of people working only for a profit and forgetting their real pursuit of happiness. Also the lack of individuality in the story hits home with me. If the government or people of an higher Class/caste/particle(alpha) try to make everyone identical in their emotional feelings we lose a very important aspect in our lives. We strive to get an education and a job to be "successful". But really who is becoming successful in the end. What is success. And why does America want us to be successful. Maybe it is for the benefit of America. They want us to be successful because it betters our country. Our country makes more of a profit then other country because its citizens are profitable. The society in Brave new world is a corrupt and wacky one but it is not that far off in a level of corruptness and wackiness of our own. Everything depicted in Huxlys book is reachable if America or the Planet earth in general keep going down the path we are going. Probably the only thing slowing us down are anti- abortionist, Anti- Steam cell research people, treehuggers, animal rights activist, And people who want a sense of variety in their life. Brave new world is practically a not so funny but real satire of society in these postmodern times. Albert Huxly wrote it to convey the his ideas of the future. A future he probably did not like. Sorry bout the middle of my blog I know it doesn't make any sense.
